Merry Christmas Everyone!  

Thank you for your donation of food for our Thanksgiving Feast!  We had a great time.  We hope you all had a wonderful time with your families.  We also collected food for the CRCC…thanks for that!

Our Annual Christmas Program will be Tuesday and Wednesday, December 13 & 14th at 11:30.  There will be no after care on those days.

Class parties will be on Thursday and Friday, December 15th & 16th during regular snack time. 

The Preschool will be clcosed December 19th – January 2nd.

Please mark all of your child’s sweaters, jackets and lunch boxes with their name.

Please pay your December tuition before the Christmas Break.  If you forget you may mail it to 951 N. Idaho St.  90631 or drop it at the regular church office, door #2.

All of us at the Preschool wish you a very Merry Christmas….may God’s peace be with you as you celebrate the birth of our Lord.

November 2016

Parents/Teacher conferences will happen this month.  Be sure to sign up at your child’s classroom for a time slot to talk with the teacher.  Conferences are for students who turn 5 by September 1st. All conferences take place in Room #10. 

For the month of November we will have a canned food drive.  Please bring your donations of non-perishable food to your classroom.  All food will go to the CRCC…..Community Resource Care Center in La Habra.  Items especially needed are  canned fruit, canned meat, chili and peanut butter.

No School On Veteran’s Day November 11th. 

Our Annual Thanksgiving Feast will be on November 15th and 16th.  On Feast day children will wear Pilgrim and Indian hats.  After giving thanks the children will enjoy a meal together.  Parents are invited to come take pictures and observe the feast.  We will need donations of items to make this Feast a success.  Please check the sign up sheet outside the classroom  and see what you are able to help provide.  We will also need someone from each class to purchase a roasted Costco chicken, debone and shread it to use on their child’s feast day.

Reminder:  Please label jackets, sweaters and lunch boxes with your child’s name.

October 2016

Tuition is due the first of every month.  Checks payable to LHHPP can be dropped in the silver basket on Mrs. Pfaff’s desk. You may pay the previous months extended charges with the next months payment.  

Extended Day is a great way for your child and class friends to have a play date.  It is also great if you have appointments and you need just a little more time before picking them up.  Please be sure and check the extended day box on the sign-in sheet on the day your child stays and provide a lunch.  Cost is $4.00 per 1/2 hour.

Snacks…..Thank you for the healthy snacks you have been bringing.  If your child is sick on his/her snack day don’t feel like you have to bring it.  We have extra supplies available in case that happens.  If you choose to send grapes, please send them cut in half.  Grapes are  choking hazard.  Remember…we have children highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.  Please do not send them for snack or in your child’s lunch. 

Chapel Days…..October 4,5,18,& 19.

T-Shirts ….On Sale Now.  We are offering a Preschool T Shirt for $7.  Please fill out the size order form and return with your payment.  

Registration….we will have a few spots available in our program so spread the word to family and friends who may have a preschooler in need of registering.

October 27  and 28 at 11:30 in the Sanctuary.  All classes are working on making a harvest costume.  The children will present their program at 11:30.  Please bring your camera!  You will have an opportunity to take pictures after each class sings.  No after care provided on those days.

Welcome back everyone.  We missed you over the summer.  

Just a few reminders for you.  Morning and Extended Day is available for your convenience.  Morning care is from 7:30 to 8:50 and extended day is from 12:05 to 3:00.  This is an additional charge of $4.00 per 1/2 hour.  Morning and after care is spontaneous and you do not need to tell us if your child will come early or stay late.  If you bring your child before 9:00 take your child to the class where you see the “Morning Care” sign.  If your child is staying after 12:00 send them to school with a lunch box. If you need your child to stay at the last minute…ie: you’re running late, please call the office…ext. day rates apply. Teachers take turns being the lunch teacher.  Please look for the sign out table when picking up from extended day.

May 2016

Mother’s Day is May 8th.  All classes will be working on Mother’s Day gifts.  We hope you enjoy your gift.

Our Open House/Bake Sale was a success….thanks to all of you who donated baked goods and dinner food.   We hope you enjoyed viewing the classrooms.  The teachers worked very hard at getting everything ready.

May is teacher appreciation month.  We believe we have the best teachers here at La Habra Hills Presbyterian Preschool.  They love your children and work hard to teach and give your child the best preschool experience possible.  Please join me in thanking them in any way God puts on your heart.

Graduation

Children who will be going to Kindergarten next year will participate in a Graduation ceremony on Monday, May 23rd and Tuesday May 24th.  The program will be in the Sanctuary at 11:30 am.  Feel free to invite family and friends to this memorable event.  If your child is old enough to go to Kindergarten, but returning to us next year, please keep them home on Graduation Day.  They will graduate with next years class.  Mrs. Drilling, Vibanco, Sully, Miss Terri’s, Robiecki’s Classes will meet as usual.  

Year End Fun Days   (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

Our last day of school is different than our normal day.  Activities will be set up in our preschool play yards.  Classes will rotate through different stations.  There is face painting, a bounce house, craft area, games, popcorn and snow cones.  We will need volunteers to help.  Please look for a sign up sheet outside the classrooms the week after Open House.

Please pay all remaining balances for extended day by May 26. 

April 2016

We hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and enjoyed some family time as well as church worship.

Fall Registration begins Monday, April 11th.  This is the first day of registration for currently enrolled MWF or Five day students and their siblings.  April 12th is the first day of registration for currently enrolled TTH students and their siblings.  Your student will need some new registration forms as well as a payment of $60 for the registration fee.  If you have two children the second child’s registration fee is $55.  The registration fee holds your child’s spot.

April 18th is the first day of registration for the community.  Registration forms will need to be filled out and registration fee of $60 be paid to hold the spot.

Open House – May 2nd

Please save the date.  May 2nd is our annual Bake Sale/BBQ fundraiser and open house.  The night will start at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm.  We will need donations f home baked items.  You can choose to tour classes first and enjoy the BBQ and Bake sale later or visa versa.  You may notice less under your child’s block this month as teachers keep some projects to display at Open House.  Open House is open to all family and friends.  Your child will enjoy showing you around their classroom and it’s always fun to look inside the other classrooms as well.

During February we had Community Helpers.  We had visits from a Dental Office, A Financial Planner, Police Officer, Nurse and a Real Estate Agent.  It was very informative for the children and we appreciate their visits very much.

We will have Picture Days Feb 29 – March 4  Sanford Studios will take the children’s portraits.  Be sure and bring your envelope with payment included.

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up.  Please sign up to visit with your child’s teacher.

There will be no School on Good Friday March 25th.  Spring Break is March 28 – April 1st

Registration for the Fall 2016 begins April 11 for currently enrolled children who attend MWF’s and then April 12 for currently enrolled students in the TTH classes.  Registration will be open to the public on April 18th.  The first day of school in August will be Tuesday, August 16.  Prices are posted on another page of our website.

February 2016

February is Community Helpers Month.  This month we will have various people come to the preschool and talk to the children about the jobs they do.

Kindergarden/Preschool Registration

Lowell Joint School District:  parents meeting at Rancho Starbuck  Feb. 23, 6:00 – 7:00 pm

City of La Habra School District:  Packets are available at the four elementary schools beginning Feb. 9

Our preschool registration begins April 11th for currently enrolled students and their families.  On April 18 registration is open to the community.

President’s Holidays are Feb 8 and Feb 15…no school those days.

Picture Days – Feb. 29 – March 4th.  More information to come.

Valentine’s Day…All children will be mailing a valentine home to their parents.  All children will need to bring little valentines to give to their classmates.  No need to address them with names…that makes it easier to distribute them.  It’s great practice for the kids to have them sign them though.

Welcome to La Habra Hills Presbyterian Preschool.  The start of school has brought back all the wonderful sounds that we miss during the summer months.  The children are adjusting to change and learning about safety inside and outside the classroom.  Please remember to bring a resting towel, change of clothes and a three day supply of emergency food for your child.  All food needs to be able to open without a can opener.  The food will be returned at the end of the year.

Coming Event…..Grandparent/Special Person Day….September 29 & 30.  Invitations will be sent home.

Helpful reminders…

Call the office if your child will be absent or comes down with a contagious illness.

Notify teachers of food allergies

Please drive slowly through the parking lot.  The back lot is open.  No parking in front of the classrooms.

Morning and Extended Day is available for your convenience.  Morning care is from 7:30 to 8:50 and after care is 12:05 – 3:00.  This is an additional charge of $3.00 per half hour. Morning and aftercare is spontaneous and doesn’t require a reservation.  In the morning sign your child in at the Morning care room and in the afternoon sign your child out on the Extended care lunch list.  If you are running late and can’t pick up your child right at 12:00…let us know and we will take them to the aftercare room until you get there.

Scholastic Book Orders

Your teacher will participate in ordering Scholatic Books.  Every month or so there will be an order form under your child’s blook. Ordering from Scholastic gives you great books at a great price and helps teachers earn books for their classroom.  You can give your order form to your teacher or do it online.  This is a completely optional program

 

April 2015

Fall registration –  the first day of registration for currently enrolled MWF or Five day students and/or their siblings is April 13th.  The first day of registration for currently enrolled TTH students and/or their siblings  is April 14th.  Currently enrolled students will need a few registration forms filled out.  A $50.00 non-refundable registration fee is required.  If you have two children the second child’s registration fee will be $45.00

April 20th is the first day that registration is open to the community.

Open House will be May 4th.  If you notice fewer craft projects coming home this month, it’s because teachers will be keeping crafts to display at open house.

March 2015

Community Helpers Month

During the month of February we had community helpers come and share about their jobs with the children.  Sunny Hills Dental Group shared with the children the importance of healthy eating and proper brushing.  Mrs. Do, a photograpers, shared about her job and brought props and equipment to show the children.  CHP Officer Adams shared the importance of wearing a helmet when bike riding and the importance of the car seat.  Fireman Hollad from the El Segundo Chevron refinery shared with the children about fire safety.  Nurse Selena from Whittier Presbyterian Hospital showed the children what they may see in an emergency room.  Nurse Selena also showed the children how germs are spread and how to do proper handwashing.  These were exciting and informative days.

During this month we will have a photographer take class and individual pictures.

We will also have Parent/ Teacher conferences.  Be sure and sign up for an appointment.

Registration for next year will be April 13th for currently enrolled families and then April 20th it will be open to the public.  All children much be five by September 1st to enroll in kindergarten.  We have a Gift of Time class for those whos birthdays fall after that date.    The first day of school will be August 17th, 2015.

February 2015

January 2015

Happy New Year Everyone!

Pajama/Pancake Day is January 12th and 13th.  The children will come in their pajamas and enjoy Pancakes and hot chocolate.  Dad’s and mom’s help cook, do nails, shave, hair and makeup and story telling.

There will be no school on January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday.

Extended Day is offered every day except on special program days.  This can be a great play date for your child and a friend.  Your child can stay as late as 3:00.  Cost is $6 per hour.

Chapel day is January 20th & 23rd.

Next month is community helpers month.  If you can come to the preschool and share about your job with the children we would appreciate.  Let Mrs. Flores know if you are available.

December 2014

Christmas programs are scheduled for December 15 & 16 at 11:30.  The Children will sing and put on a little nativity program.  Bring your cameras….unlike the harvest program….. you will need to stay in your seats when taking pictures or video so as not to interrupt our ongoing presentation.  Christmas parties will be December 18 & 19 during their snack time.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas celebrating the Lord’s birth.  We will be off from school from Dec. 22 – Jan. 5th.

 

November 2014

Parent teacher conferences will be November 6th – November 10th.  Please sign up with your teacher.

Thank you for your canned food donations.  All donations will be taken to the CRCC in La Habra.

There is no school on November 11th because of Veteran’s Day.  Be sure and hug a Veteran.  Also our Thanksgiving Holiday is November 24th – 28th.

Thanksgiving Feast on the Patio.  Our Annual Thanksgiving Feast will be on Nov. 18th and 19th.  On feast day children wear Pilgrim or Indians Hats; give thanks to the Lord and share a Thankgiving meal together.  The feast takes place on the Social Hall patio.  You are invited to take pictures as your child eats.  We will need help getting this event together and will put out sign up sheets requesting certain food items.  We will need help cooking whole chickens and stuffing.  If you’ve never cooked a whole chicken before…it’s easy and you can learn from us!  The chicken will need to be deboned after cooking and brought back to preschool on Feast Day.

Chapel days will be November 4th an 5th.

Helpful reminders:  Call the office if your child will be absent; Call the office if your child comes down with a communicable illness; notify teachers of food allergies, address changes etc.  Label all jackets and sweaters and resting towels with name; No sandals or cowboy boots may be worn to school;  Please drive slowly through the parking lot; There is parking in the back lot also; Please do not bring peanut butter for snack or lunch.

We offer Morning and Afternoon Care from 7:30 – 8:50 and 12:05 – 3:00.  This is an additional charge of $3.00 per half hour.  You do not need to tell us in advance.  Check the ext.care box and bring a lunch for the afternoon care.   If you bring your child early, take your child to the class where you see the “Morning Care” banner.

Its time once again for registration for the Fall 2014 term.  Registration for currently enrolled students will begin on April 14th for MWF students, and April 15th for Tue/Thurs students.  Beginning April 21 we will be open to the public for enrollment.

We are getting ready to celebrate Easter with fun Chapels, Easter Parties and fun crafts.

The La Habra Hills Presbyterian Church will host an Easter Eggstravaganza Dinner on Friday night, April 18th 5:30 – 8:00 pm.  The Cost is $7.  Please RSVP by April 16th to Jerry or Larrisa…562-691-3296.

Coming in June……Vacation Bible School…..June 23 – 27,  5:15 – 8:00 pm.  Wilderness Escape!  More detailed flyer coming soon.

March 2014

During the month of February we had community helpers come and share their jobs with the children.  Sunny Hills Dental Group and Dr. Daniels Dental Care shared with the children the importance of healthy eating and proper brushing.  La Habra Fire & Police Departments brought their vehicles and equipment.  These were exciting and informative days.

Picture Days

March 3 – 7 will be picture days. These will be taken by Sanford Studios.  Be sure and bring your envelope and payment to school on the appropriate day.

All of the Pre-K classes will have parent/teacher conferences this month.  Teachers have put out sign-up sheets on their bulletin board.  Be sure and sign up for a time to meet with the teacher.

Extended Day

We offer extended days every day except on special program days.  During extended day children eat lunch together, then play.  If your child has a friend he/she would like to spend more time with, extended days re a good choice.

Registration for 2014/15

Currently enrolled MWF students and their siblings will be allowed to register on Monday, April 14th.  Currently enrolled TTH students and their siblings can register on Tuesday, April 15th.  Because you will be registering for a new school year, there is a $50.00 registration fee and a few forms to update.  We will open registration to the public on Monday, April 21st and continue registration until all spots are taken.  All children must be five by September 1st to enroll in kindergarten.  If you child’s teacher has recommended another year of preschool, our Gift of Time class will be taught by Mrs. Hopp’s in Room 18.

The tentative start of school is August 18th.

 

February 2014

February is community helpers month.  This month we will have various people come to the preschool and share about the jobs they do.   Parents who would like to share with the children, please call the office to set up a date and time.

No School on February 10th or 17th.

Picture days will be March 3rd – 7th.  We will notify you as to the day that is scheduled for your class.

The children will be making valentines to mail home.  Please be sure we have your correct address if it has changed since the beginning of school.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It’s good to be back at school after the nice break.   We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.  On January 13th and 14th we will have Pajama Day.  This includes wearing our pajamas and regular shoes to school and having pancakes and hot chocolate for snack.  We will have pretend shaving, manicures, hairdos and lots of fun stuff.

Also January 20th there will be no school in honor of Martin Luther King day.

Chapels will be resuming very soon.

November 2013

This month our classes will have Parents/Teachers conferences.  Please sign up outside your child’s classroom.

Thank you for bringing canned goods for the CRCC Food drive.  You can continue to bring cans anytime this month.
