February/March 2024
February is a month of love. The children made Valentines for their parents and exchanged Valentines with their school classmates. We had lots of rain, so the children played inside quite a few days. March brought some warmer temps so we planted Sugar snap peas in our little garden. They are already peeking through the soil. The children will help water them and enjoy eating them before too long.
We also had picture day and the kids smiled pretty for their pictures! We look forward to Easter parties and chapel where we will learn about the blessing of Jesus and Easter resurrection.
January 2024
During January we will celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday; have pajama/pancake day ! What a way to start the New Year! Fairly soon we will be planting Peas in our garden! The kids enjoy eating those. Chapel continues twice a month with Pastor Geoff and Pastor Jerry.
December 2023
We were busy preparing for our Christmas program where the children wear costumes and portray the Nativity, complete with narration by our pastors. Each class also sings a couple songs that relate to the Birth of Christ.
November 2023
We have had a good Fall so far. The parents enjoyed a Harvest Program where the children sang a few songs and had fruity and veggie headbands. The corn we are growing is getting bigger and we are hoping it will be ready to pick very soon. We look forward to our Thanksgiving parties this week! and our Thanksgiving Break.
September 2023
School is in full swing. The children are getting settled into a routine with their teachers. It’s great to have all those smiling faces back for the school year. On Sept 28th and 29th we will have Grandparents Day. The children are working on a song to sing for them.
We have planted Blue Gem corn in the little garden…so we will be excited to see how that comes out.
June 2023
Regular school has ended for the summer and we are now into 2 weeks of summer school. The children are exploring Under the Sea creatures and environments. Registration is ongoing throughout the summer for the Fall. Please come by for a tour any morning until June 16th. May 2023
We have harvested carrots and peas from our little garden at school. The children have enjoyed tasting everything and really like helping with the watering. Those children going on to preschool will participate in a graduation program and everyone else will enjoy a year end fun day to end the school year.
Registration continues for the upcoming school year which begins in the middle of August. Call or come on by to check out our school if you are looking for a place for your Preschooler.
April 2023
This month we had fun learning about the first Easter when Jesus rose from the dead. We had Easter parties and even picked carrots from the garden. Graduation for those going to Kindergarten will be here before we know it, so we are working on some songs to sing for the parents. Registration for the Fall has begun. If you are interested in attending our school in August, please come register as soon as possible. We also have a 2 week summer school program….come check it out!
March 2023
This month we have Picture Days. The children will have their pictures taken by a photographer. They will also have St. Patrick’s Day parties. The children as enjoying playing outside after all the rain we had.
Registration for next year is scheduled for April 17th.
February 2023
Hello everyone! This month we celebrate Valentine’s Day with special class parties and crafts. We will also have visits from Community Partners…..fire department personnel, a financial planner and a Park Ranger. The children always learn so much from these visits and some of the community partners are parents and grandparents.
January 2023
Happy New Year Everyone! We had a good December with our Christmas Program. The children did a wonderful job with their Nativity Play and their songs. Now that it is January we are enjoying Pajama/Pancake day. The children get to wear their pajama’s and have pancakes and hot chocolate, finger nail polish, pretend shaving and even some hairstyles if they want. In Chapel we will continue our lessons about Jesus…first one about Jesus as a 12 year old hanging out with the leaders in the Temple.
November 2022
Happy Thanksgiving Month to everyone! The children are looking forward to having their Thanksgiving Parties as well as Thanksgiving break.
In our garden the carrots have finally come up and the corn are getting tassels. A little late in the year, but we’ll see what happens.
In Chapel this year we have learned about Creation, Noah, Moses, Gideon as well as other Old Testament people. Soon we will be focusing on the birth of Jesus and preparing our Christmas program were we reenact the Nativity.
October 2022
We are well underway at the preschool. This month the children will make harvest costumes and learn some songs to sing for their parents at our Harvest Program. They always look so cute! In September we had back to school night and that was well attended. Our enrollment is low this year so we are always looking to add more students and even a class or two. If you know of anyone looking for a preschool, please send them to us!
We have had Chapel a few times and the children enjoy learning about God and have learned about Creation, Noah, Moses and how God takes care of his people.
In our garden we are growing corn and carrots. A few beans have sprouted from last years crop. The kids enjoyed Peas last year so we will also plant them again when it’s time.
May 2022
We are into our last month of the 21-22 school year. It’s been a great year! We are having Teacher Appreciation week May 2 – 6. Chapel will be on May 10 & 11, 17 & 18. Graduation for those going to Kindergarten is May 24 & 25. The students are busy making Mother’s Day gifts and practicing graduation songs and having fun.
We have picked carrots and broccoli in our little garden and will have beans soon.
Our two week summer school program is almost filled up….we are going to learning about farms.
April 2022
Registration for the 2022/23 school year will begin on Monday, April 4. If you are currently enrolled and planning on sending your child to La Habra Hills Presbyterian Preschool for the new school you will need to fill out a couple of forms to update your child’s file and let us know how many days you wish to attend. A non-refundable $100 registration fee will hold their spot for the new school year. If you have not been to our school before we have a packet of forms to fill out and the $100 non-refundable deposit will hold your child’s spot. Tuition rates are as follows: Mon – Friday, $620, MWF $360, TTH $275.
We will be offering a 2 week Summer Fun session. The dates are June 6-17. More information will be sent home soon.
Classroom Easter Parties will be on Wednesday, April 13 & 14. If you would like to donate an item to the party please sign up outside your child’s classroom. Children will also dye hard boiled eggs as a class project. A note with hard boiled egg details will be sent home soon.
Plan to join LHHPC and the community as we reflect on Holy Week. We’ll journey through the events of Holy Week and end with a lunch and dessert. Sunday, April 10th 11:30 a.m. – 2 pm in the Social Hall. You are also invited to join us for worship before that at 10 a.m. The cost is $10 per family. RSVP by April 6th to Lhhpcfamily@gmail.com
No School on Good Friday. We will be closed Friday, April 15th. Easter Sunday is April 17.
March 2022
Parent Teach Conferences will be March 7th – 11th. Please sign up for a slot on the list outside of your child’s classroom. If your child is going to kindergarten in August 2022 you should register you child now at the school in your district.
We will start our preschool registration for Fall 2022 on Monday, April 4th. Please pass this information on to family and friends who might be looking for a preschool.
Spring break is March 21-25
Picture days are scheduled for March 30-April 1
In our little garden we have harvested lettuce, peas and broccoli. Some of the children enjoyed a salad with the lettuce and some Caesar dressing. The children help water the plants everyday.
February 2022
It’s already February and the classes are having Valentine’s Parties and making special Valentines for their parents. In January we had fun having pajama day along with pancakes and hot chocolate. We will have no school on February 14th and February 21st in honor of Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthdays.
